We may groan endlessly about Penn's dining options (that shudder you're now experiencing comes courtesy of Houston Market), but as West Philadelphians, we're actually very lucky when it comes to food. In fact, some of our Philly favorites (White Dog, Sabrina's, Marigold Kitchen-- to name a few) are just a short walk away, and for the next two weeks, they're cheap, thanks to Uni City Dining Days.

We know that workin' off that Fourth of July BBQ is at the top of your priority list. We also know that it's too hot to do anything except frantically reapply your antiperspirant every time you look out the window. Which is why we're pleased to present Mini Golf at The Porch at 30th Street Station.

In our latest edition of impressive people who go to Penn, we present you with a former Penn swim captain, a current Penn swim captain, and a young woman who holds four University swim records-- oh yeah, and they're also all competing in the Olympic swimming trials this week out in Omaha. Rhoads Worster, a self-proclaimed "really competitive person" (surprising?), Shelby Fortin and Brendan McHugh are all goin' for the gold in their bid to join a former Quaker who has already secured a spot on the women's rowing team for the 2012 London Games.

Huntsman's Consolation Prize: Board Of Trustees– There's only room for one true president on campus, which is why we sure are happy to welcome former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr. to Penn's Board of Trustees after an 11-year hiatus, as the DP reports. "Penn was like family," Huntsman Jr. '87 was reported as saying upon acceptance of the position. Yeah, sure, whatever.

With 9 weeks left until we change our professional headlines on Linkedin back to "Student," we stumbled across this video which actually kinda made us miss campus. The vintage footage of old school Penn comes from 1957, a time when upperclassmen lived in the Upper Quad, Hey Day was called the Junior Cane Walk, and freshmen participated in a wacky tradition called "Dink Day."

Happy National Do(ugh)nut Day!--Celebrate 75 years of Krispy Kreme artery kloggers with a free doughnut today at the Center City location! If that's too far, or if you don't feel the need to burn off the calories (yet), hit up the more local option: Dunkin'. Your donut is FREE--as long as you buy a drink first. Our suggestion: go to Dunkin' and get a drink and donut on your walk to Krispy Kreme.

Look at trendy Philly making some moves (and shaking things up) with the arrival of Shake Shack to town! Next Wednesday, after nearly a year-long wait, the Big Apple's hottest burgers and shakes stand will be opening up its doors on 20th and Sansom, by Rittenhouse Square. It's the perfect location, considering its customized menu which will feature some Philly-themed "Concretes" (blended frozen custard), including the "Rittenhouse," "Center City Pretzel," and "Liberty Shell."

Eating a green chip may have ranked among your worst childhood nightmares, but one Penn professor (who already has a whole lot on his plate) thinks tasting the rainbow might actually help shed some pounds!

Penn released its semi-annual list of campus-wide CCTV locations yesterday, as per the University Policy (yes, there's a policy on such matters). For the uninformed, the list details all 218 locations of cameras, from 30th to 46th. Every garage roof, street corner, and lab is being watched.

A team of Penn engineers who solemnly swear that they're up to no good recently found a way to use a technology called plasmonic cloaking to create destructive interference, translation for "We just invented an invisibility cloak."

You're sitting at home during the most awkward three weeks of your life. Your internship hasn't started yet, and there's only so many more times you can leaf through "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" and your high school yearbook. So sit back, break out the Penn Alumni sweatshirt, and enjoy your grad vids. As if you need any more urging, we present you with a list of reasons to relive your last 15 minutes as a Quaker.

We know how bummed you are that you don't have an ABCS course to get you to walk North of FroGro, so here's a bit of good news for ya: Philadelphia got selected by travel mag Frommer's as one of the 10 Best Cities for Parks internationally! That puts us in the same league as London, Paris, and Tokyo. Penn Park, along with FDR Park and Fairmont Park, which is made up of 63 individual parks and 9,200 acres (10% of Philly), are just the first steps in Mayor Nutter's Green 2015 initiative to add 500 acres of park space by the time the freshies graduate.

If you didn't get a chance to drink off last Tuesday's loss to the Tigers over Spring Break, maybe this highball will lift your spirits: our (second-favorite) President's U.S. Department of Education awarded Penn the Presidential Award in the Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. That's right, we win! And the best part is, Princeton didn't quite make the cut.
