We are having a total Gap-gasm!

Sale at The Gap!  Run, do not walk, to Walnut Street!

Penn students are lucky in that we have shopping options for all types of people right on campus:  American Apparel for hipsters and Roy G. Biv enthusiasts, Urban Outfitters for the hyper-ironic and style-conscious among us, and then The Gap for people that just really, really like cargo pants and solid-colored sweaters.  We place ourselves firmly on Team Gap, and thus were super excited to see that our campus outpost of the khaki bastion is having a sale.  Whether or not The Gap is a dead brand had been the subject of a lot of debate over the past few years, but the current wisdom on the matter (according to the Times' Style section, anyway) seems to be that The Gap is on the upswing.

The clothes are indeed compelling. The trench coat and shirtdress styles and the muted colors — a variety of grays, browns and purple plaid — are at once basic and fashionable, a duality that could be either girly and pretty or androgynous in an Oliver Twist goes to a Nirvana concert sort of way.
And as they make way for more winter-y clothes, the fall stuff is going on sale, and we really recommend that you check it out.  Normally we have an aversion to how trendy and conform-y this campus can get, but when it comes to tweed and twin-sets, we just can't help ourselves.
