Here's a side of Friday the 13th you probably didn't see coming: 259 years ago on Friday, the Academy and College of Philadelphia (an early component of what is known today as "Penn") opened its doors. It wasn't until 1791 that the school merged with a bunch of others and formally changed its name to the University of Pennsylvania, but SAS kids: you can sorta trace the origins of your school back to this day. Wheee!

Use today to dream of a simpler time that was probably free of sector requirements (seriously, eff that noise).
