Philly Weekly Talks About "Corp Values"

pencil

Sometimes Penn kids like to make the world a better place, and sometimes we like the world to know about how we're improving it. Philadelphia Weekly gave Penn a shout-out for the new community service-based WriteCorp program, where students go into schools and teach creative writing to the wee ones in the Philly school system. More info on WriteCorp after the jump.

WriteCorp is a new program that is sponsored by the Kelly Writers House. It trains students interested in all types of creative writing and takes them out into the "real world" (ooooooh, scary) to share their skills and passion with Philly youth. It offers leadership opportunities, the chance to share a passion, and bonus points for getting involved with community service (cough, resume builder). But on the reals, it's pretty sweet and we love helping to save the world. Plus, one of the leaders mentioned in the article writes for Street. Claps all around.

Sign up to get involved here. The first required training session is on November 20th so make sure you are available to attend from 12-4 p.m. Don't worry though, that's the biggest time commitment you'll have to make to participate in the program. They try their best to accommodate you ridiculously busy Penn people.
