Penn Jock Dau Jok Does Good (And Finds Time To Blog About It)

dau-jok

The DP ran a story on Dau Jok back in March detailing his summer plans to return to his native country of Sudan and use a $10,000 grant to end violence.  But now that ESPN’s covering the news, people noticed his efforts are really gaining steam.  The Penn basketball player is using funding from the Davis Projects for Peace to support the Dut Jok Youth Foundation, an organization he founded in honor of his late father.  He aims to use sports to end violence among the young in Sudan.  Jok and fellow teammate Zack Rosen will visit Sudan in June and blog about their experiences for ESPN.

Want to help?  Jok encourages students to help in his efforts and has even tried to persuade Rosen to donate a percentage of his salary to the foundation.  Tempting.  If you’re looking to be a more passive supporter, you can read the ESPN blog here.
