Step Aside Five-Dollar Footlongs!

hoagiefest

Get out your party hats because Hoagie Day is here!  Hoagie Day, a "celebration of enormous proportions", is part of Wawa Welcome America! 2011, Philly's eleven-day Fourth of July celebration.

It's also fitting that we are in the middle of Hoagiefest 2011, a two-month rebranding of Wawa's regular shitty sandwiches that are available all year long.  Check out our guide to the Hoagie Day events and some special Hoagiefest music selections after the jump!

If you're looking to score some free food tomorrow and celebrate our nation's addiction to unhealthy food, the festivities start at 4:30 am tomorrow, with the building of a 4 1/2 ton hoagie at the Wells Fargo Center.  At noon, the event moves to Independence Mall, where Penn-alum and former Governor Ed Rendell will officially proclaim June 29th to be Hoagie Heritage Day.  After that, everyone will sing the national anthem, and gorge themselves on a piece of a 9,000-pound sub.  To get amped up, listen to some of Wawa's Hoagiefest anthems below!
