Penn's Newest Reality Star...Maybe

Holly-Dance-Moms

Last night, Dance Moms premiered on Lifetime with the expected drama, glitz and shock value, and we were successfully playing the show as mere background noise while we housesat for our creepy neighbors until Nia's mom, Holly, the self-proclaimed Michelle Obama lookalike, appeared on screen.

"I went to Carnegie Mellon for my master's and I'm currently at the University of Pennsylvania," Holly tells the camera before adding, "I'm also a principal." Wait, but if the show takes place in Pittsburgh, and Holly needs to be overseeing both her students and her in-it-to-win-it daughter, then how is she commuting to Penn?

We'd normally assume she meant our alter ego, Penn State, but the way she enunciated every syllable of our school's name like our grandmothers do when they brag about us to their bridge partners makes us willing to give Holly the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she's taking summer courses. Or online courses. Or not.
