Big Kids Get To Have All The Fun

One of the unfortunate realities of living in any city is that violence tends to break out more often than it does in the suburbs. Take Philly's and Chicago's flash mobs for instance: swarms of (mostly) teenagers running in the streets, looting stores and attacking passersby and bloggers alike. However, after a recent wave of these mobs, The Inquirer reports that Mayor Nutter has decided to strictly enforce the citywide curfew: 10 p.m. for the under-13 crowd, and midnight for those younger than 18.

So what does this mean for the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed herds of Penn's "best and brightest?" It means go back to bed, ya scamps! Why would even want to go to parties if you're, like, 17? Shouldn't you be playing with your Polly Pockets or something?

Update: Mayor Nutter has revised the curfew– 9 p.m. for everyone under 18 on Fridays and Saturdays. Officials will reexamine the issue in the coming months.
