Live From The Van Pelt Fire Alarm

x2_89e4c86

At approximately 11:30 a.m. today, disaster struck the quiet intellectual haven of Van Pelt Library. The shrill ring of a fire alarm emptied the building, forcing undergrads, professors, hobos and PhD students alike to congregate on College Green.

It wasn't long before primal instincts began to kick in. Some paced. Some complained to the police present. Others simply began setting up their study shops in the crisp fall air as if nothing had happened. No matter the reaction, one thing was known for sure: this was a day to live on in history.

Stay tuned for updates from our Twitter. The library has reopened! Hopefully y'all all called "fives" on that primo Rosenparty space. After the jump: more pics and a testimonial.

Additionally, a tipster inside says:

People in the 3rd floor carrels were not interrupted by the fire alarms but instead by a woman yelling for everyone to "Get out! this is not a drill!" after the alarm had already been going off on the first floor for 10 minutes. Safe?
