People Who Went to Penn: Alan Livingston

You Spring Breakers still readjusting to Philly temperatures are probably wondering the whereabouts of the sun, but  UTB is here to hold your hand and to tell you to let it be, girl!

If you're sensing a theme, it's thanks to Wharton C'40 grad Alan Livingston, who spent his college years playing in his own orchestra at frat parties while pursuing a degree in Economics.

After graduating from Penn, Livingston joined the army before heading west. It was in Hollywood that he began to work as a writer/producer for Capitol Records, where in 1963 he signed the Beatles and snuck brought them stateside.

Livingston sadly passed in 2009, but the reputation of his protégé will live on forever. Wharton students, the bar is set high. Will you come together and sign the next Beatles? You may say we are dreamers.
