40th And Pine Gets A Makeover

Have you always dreamed of a life closer to Nara? Roommates a little too active for your taste? Well pack your bags, because you’re moving to 40th and Pine.

According to this article, the Philadelphia Historical Commission voted yes to replacing the current tenant of 400 S. 40th Street with an apartment complex, and they’ve partnered with Penn to do it.

This building is “catered to graduate students” but how could they deny us those balcony gardens AND a prime location? The five-story building will house 120+ residents (think livable version of Hill) and is complete with glass windows, grass, and vulnerability subjugation VIP access to all off-campus Greek life…

Who will the non-Penn residents be? How will the Radian react? Will this become the new Tabard house? All these questions and more will be answered as we say, “Ugh, yea come on in,” to yet ANOTHER construction site on our ever-changing campus.
