What's HapPENNing?

Ugh, Mondays. After the whirlwind of Halloween and Homecoming, it's hard to imagine doing anything at all over the next couple of days. That said, here are several events to attend during what might be the last nice week before the crushing gloom of winter descends upon us all.

A Conversation with Maggie Groff from Planned Parenthood

When: Tuesday 11/10, 7:30 pm

Where: Steinberg-Dietrich 350

Why: Penn Democrats, Penn Association for Gender Equity (PAGE), Penn Lambda Alliance and MARS - UPenn are hosting a whole "Week of Action" in order to increase awareness about sexual assault prevention. Maggie Groff is the VP of External Affairs for Planned Parenthood so it's pretty cool that she'll be speaking at Penn. There will also be other events going on all week long.

Bring: Probably don't bring anything besides a willingness to listen!

Big Man on Campus

When: Wednesday at 8:00 pm

Where: The Roxxy, 939 N Delaware Ave

Why: ~Shirtless men~ Additionally, the proceeds from BMOC will go to Women Against Abuse, which provides safe haven for Philadelphia victims of domestic violence.

Bring: Apparently it's 90's themed so bring a scrunchie, a Walkman loaded with Britney, and some light wash denim apparel.

Señorita Taco Sale!

When: Thursday from 11:00am - 1:20pm

Where: Locust Walk

Why: Because Taco Thursday is a nice alliteration, tacos are delicious, and the lovely ladies of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/ will be selling them on Locust!

Bring: A craving for tacos, pico, limes, salsa, etc.

Penn LiNK Presents: Pepero Day!

When: Wednesday 11/11, but fill out the order form by Tuesday!

Why: Because it's nearly Pepero day! And that means that you should give your friends and loved ones Pepero (cookie sticks dipped in chocolate).

Bring: An appreciation for Korean culture and snacks!

Fiji Presents: Ripe

When: 9:00 pm - 12:00 am

Where: Fiji Chapter House

Why: Go because you're probably curious about what kind of music a band called "Ripe" plays. Also proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Bring: A Penncard.
