Penn Alum Plays A Match With McEnroe

(01/12/12 10:38pm)

College '11 graduate, Michael Ratner, just released a Funny or Die video starring tennis star John McEnroe.  The Penn alum wrote, produced and co-starred in the short.  We think the video's actually pretty good and a nice change of pace from some of the other alums trying to make it big.  In the clip, McEnroe teaches a friend's awkward and arrogant son, played by Ratner, some lessons.

Furda Stars In New Admissions Videos

(12/20/11 7:00pm)

Penn's Dean of Admissions Eric Furda released a new video series as this year's apparent follow-up to PennLikely. Furda's new YouTube channel, Page217 (haha-- we get it), features three video clips: Dean Furda Intro to Penn, Finding Your Way to UPenn, and Making a College Visit where we see Eric Furda apparently giving our some personal student tours.  Who knew there was so much interaction?

BREAKING: Unconfirmed Bomb Threat in College Green Area

(12/10/11 5:21pm)

An apparent bomb threat near the design building forced evacuations of Meyerson and caused police to take precautions in nearby Fisher Fine Arts. We're told that policemen came inside the library and made everyone move to one side of the reading room. A few minutes later, the police returned to say that nobody could leave Fisher because they were investigating a suspicious package near College Green.  Stay tuned to UTB and The DP for the latest updates as they come in.

And the 2012 Grad Speaker Is... Eric Cantor

(12/08/11 6:49pm)

[Disclaimer: Papyrus is such a joke. So is this post.] Eric Cantor was scheduled to speak at Penn earlier this semester but he cancelled at the last minute because protestors decided to OCCUPY PENN. Because of his contractual commitment to speak at Penn and the lack of a better available speaker, Penn officials have confirmed that Cantor is the official 2012 Commencement speaker.

Wawalicious Wawaversary

(11/16/11 3:56pm)

Did you know that tomorrow is another Wawholiday?  Our favorite 24-7 hangout on 38th & Spruce has been cranking out crappy coffee and serving our midnight munchies for 25 years.  To celebrate, stop by and grab a free cup of joe anytime this Thursday.  Free coffee "and fun" have been promised, so bonus points to the guy who manages to snag the most free shit.
