Finals really, really suck. In an effort to mitigate said suckiness, Penn likes to hook students up with the occasional freebie. Houston isn't the only place to find perks — hit up these spots starting today and continuing through the 22nd:

Though the Compass myth only applies to the first round of midterms, we think it's funny that it's covered right before finals begin. Good luck studying, folks (and thanks to Jayme van Oot for the tip)!

We've known about Penn's e-cards for a while now, but this holiday season the people over at Penn Business Services went all out and produced three new (animated!) e-cards for us to send to our proud Penn parents/jealous younger siblings who had to settle for Cornell (kidding!). Our favorite is the one that features a Love statue snowglobe that you can "shake." But what's with the annoying tinny music, guys?

Houston is always one of our favorite study destinations during finals, as it's open all day and all night (24 hours, kids), and offers plenty of free snacks and tutoring. But this semester Houston has really outdone itself. The theme? Harry Potter! (Maybe they read this NY Times op-ed?)

With December, comes many things — some good (pretty snow, spiked hot chocolate, A-Gut's holiday party which we are SO attending next Monday) and some really, really bad (sub-freezing temperatures, finals, more finals). Our favorite thing about Penn in December? The lights on Locust Walk! Sorry for the crappy photo quality, but here's to making the walk to Van Pelt a little less miserable.

Enter Penn InTouch at your own risk. Happy Monday!

When we came up with the name of this blog that you're reading, we thought it sounded funny and subversive and a little naughty. You know, since it (not so) subtly references the whole having sex under the Button thing.

As you know, we've been crushing on Coup de Taco since they opened. Today (and tomorrow and Saturday), our favorite taco truck is combining forces with the Penn Taiwanese Society to raise some dough for Typhoon Morakot relief efforts. As per PTS:

That's right, spring schedules are up on Penn InTouch. Add/drop hasn't started yet, but you can take a peek at what you (might) have in store next semester.

But the alarm went off. And a firetruck came. See our pics below.

Though we prefer Fisher Fine Arts (and some other folks do, too), a hell of a lot of people dig Van Pelt (Rosenparty, anyone?). As such, we must inform you that Van Pelt is switching into finals mode.

Serving as the first real reminder to seniors that they will soon become irrelevant, save the date mailers for graduation were delivered this holiday weekend. You can find a rundown of the 254th commencement exercises below. And please do leave your guesses for commencement speaker in the comments.

Chestnut has become quite the culinary destination this semester. First Sprinkles and Blockley (poutine!) set up shop, and now Sang Kee Noodle House and Tom Drinker's West are the new kids on the block.

It looks like Obama is continuing on his Penn kick with the appointment of Amy Gutmann to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. And oh yeah, she's going to the commission's chairwoman. Best birthday present EVER.

Hello, dear readers. We've skipped town for Thanksgiving (and hope you did, too!). We'll be posting sporadically until Monday. So eat your turkey, enjoy your awkward relatives and send us tips. Catch you on the flip side!

Advanced registration ends tonight at midnight. Seniors, it's your last time to register for classes. Ever. Make it count. Underclassmen, enjoy fulfilling those requirements. Suckaz.

Tonight Off the Beat (that's Penn's modern rock a cappella group, for the two of you who haven't heard of them) will be performing their fall show at Harrison Auditorium. The show is at 8, and there is a performance tomorrow night as well. OTB (hey, that sounds like UTB!) also just released their latest album, Evitetive, and they were kind enough to leak us some tracks. You can buy a copy of your own at the show or on their website.
