The Washington Post published an article yesterday which explains how college students who go to school in Philly, stay in Philly. We aren't quite sure why this is relevant to WaPo, which is a DC publication, but Penn got a shoutout so we'll take it. The author says that according to a recent Philly poll, "ill" residents want recently graduated students to stay for business purposes. He also calls students who stay in their college towns "parasites". Philly is hoping to become a parasitic city (that would be a sweet band name) and we as Penn students are the parasites. So basically what we gather from this is that if we stay in Philly after we graduate, we become a statistic. Hmm.

PUPPIES! - Hurry to Rodin's Rooftop Lounge (or "Wooftop Lounge") at 3 p.m. for a puppy-filled study break. Dogs from the vet school will be running around and doing adorable things. Even better is that we get to play with them and eat free Greek Lady.

We were so surprised that we felt the need to alert our readers immediately. Because this person is the first to eat at the semi-intriguing eatery, they automatically became mayor on Foursquare. Now we are kicking ourselves for missing this golden opportunity.
We strolled into the WaWa on 38th and Spruce today with caffeine on our minds, only to find out that WaWa has no running water and therefore no coffee. Dismayed and confused, we were forced to get our caffeine fix elsewhere. There's no telling exactly when the water (and therefore the coffee) will be back on but there are lots of burly men and trucks outside that are working to fix the problem. According to the Inquirer, The Inn at Penn may have some competition in the next few years. Campus Apartments is breaking ground tomorrow on a new hotel. Every room in the hotel will be a suite and is meant for longer stays, so we expect to see plenty of terrified parents staying there all through NSO and their baby freshman's entire first semester. Plus, the hotel will be a Hilton, so maybe Paris will hit us up.
For those of you non-freshmen who miss frequenting the dining halls with just the swipe of your PennCard, here's how you can weasel your way into what could be a free meal plan. Bon Appetit is offering a free meal to anyone without a meal plan, as long as they accompany a friend who has one. They even call this free-loader person a "Meal Buddy". There's a whole promotion thing going on where you get an extra one hundred dining dollars if this Meal Buddy signs up for a plan in the Spring. Plus, your Meal Buddy will be entered into a raffle to get a free meal plan. How could anyone resist such an incredible deal when we have cuisine like this?

The empty retail space that resides next to Bobby's Burger Palace looks sad and dull at the moment, but not for long. We spotted a zoning notice that says a new take-out place will open up shop at some point in the near future. We aren't sure what the new place will be, but we do know that it is a chain with five other locations.

Because college students get a bad reputation when it comes to chewing with our mouths closed, drinking like classy people and shaking hands instead of bumping fists, Fox Leadership is offering an etiquette class on December 2nd at 5 p.m. Topics include: building charisma (in a social setting, not on a frat dance floor), remembering names (which doesn't happen on frat dance floors) and building lasting relationships (once again, unfamiliar to frat party attendees). The best part seems to be the dinner that is included, where participants will learn to eat like upstanding and Ivy League educated individuals. Return Of The UA Airport Shuttles - For all you out-of-towners, UA airport shuttles will drop you off at any terminal of the Philly Airport if you're flying home for Thanksgiving. Tickets are available starting today for $5 on the second floor of Houston Hall. Shuttles run on November 23rd and 24th. For more info check out the UA website.
In case you want to snuggle up to Penn's senior elite, the Friars-hosted Friarside Coffeehouse (we see what you guys did there) is tonight at 8 p.m. There will be entertainment, but more importantly, there will be food. Lots of it. Not only will you be amused and well-fed, but by purchasing a ticket you'll gain entry into the elusive Castle, which is super fancy and has a moose head on the wall. Totally worth the $8 price tag. Plus you'll feel good about yourself because the money benefits Habitat for Humanity. Let's see the Nightingales host something like this.
With alums like John Legend and Hoodie Allen, Penn has no shortage of musical gods. However, one Penn man has ventured where no other has been before: his band's song is featured in Rock Band. '97 alum Matt Kap and his band Moving Picture Show now have their song "Perfect World" (which can be downloaded here) as a level on one of the most popular video games of our time. Get undressed in the name of race equality at the "Undressing Race" exhibit, which features t-shirt designs that question racism and whether it would exist if we could "take off" our race like a t-shirt. The Race Dialogue Project, which is behind this undressing, also has an accompanying video. Check out the exhibit in the Fox Art Gallery in Cohen Hall until 12/8.
