If you haven’t heard about Fortnite yet, you’re probably living under a rock. The survival game has taken over the world on pretty much every gaming platform, and professional players are regularly raking in six-figure payoffs.

Dhruv Kahn (EW ’21) has heard about Fortnite, and with the time he spends playing it you would also think he lives under a rock.

The Mechanical Engineering major and Finance concentration believes it is a great interdisciplinary experience.

“My dual-degree helps out a lot in this game. The finance comes in when I need to budget and collect resources, and the mechanical engineering helps a lot with building impenetrable bases. It really is the best of both worlds,” Kahn explained.

After being inspired by Twitch streamer Ninja (the most popular Fortnite player), who recently had Drake and Travis Scott join him in a gaming session, Kahn has decided to found the Wharton Fortnite Building Group.

“People are starting to take notice of this as a lucrative career. I think our pre-professional culture will embrace it,” he told us.
