One of our favorite alums was featured in a news piece on MTV.com the other day, where he talks about the importance of financial aid and the Get Schooled Challenge that he advocates. John Legend surprised students at Howard University with a talk on scholarships and helping students pay for college. The article even has a whole paragraph dedicated to us! Check it out after the jump.

Also, shout out to John and Philly-natives The Roots. Their new collaborative album is dropping on Tuesday. See the review in today's issue of Street here.

"[Legend] spoke of his journey toward obtaining a degree with honors from University of Pennsylvania. He praised past teachers who provided him with the support and guidance to receive a scholarship to UPenn and explained how vital scholarships were to his ability to complete college."

We're glad we could help the Legend get his education lifted.
