College freshman Holden Cawfeld woke up naked in someone else’s bed, spooning someone he didn’t know. His head was spinning from a blistering hangover. He did not remember anything that had happened last night and could only infer from his present situation that he had hooked up with someone the night before.

Cawfeld groggily rolled out of the bed and threw on his clothes that still smelled like alcohol and vomit. He needed to get back to his dorm as soon as possible to work on his CIS 160 homework. He stumbled out the door into a very familiar hallway; the door across the hall had a little sign on it that had his name on it.

“At first I couldn’t believe it,” Cawfeld said, “How did I not notice I was hooking up with my neighbor.”

Thoughts flashed through his head, and Cawfeld considered requesting a room change.

“I wanted to change rooms so I could avoid awkward encounters with her in the hallway,” said Cawfeld, “But then I realized that if I don’t remember what happened, neither could she.”

After pretending to study CIS 160 for an hour, Cawfeld walked out of his room to use the bathroom. A somewhat familiar-looking girl passed him in the hallway.

“Hey, Holden,” she said with a sly smile on her face. “Last night was pretty wild, wasn’t it.”
