According to recent reports, Kelsey Ku (C ’21) has been feeling a bit adventurous lately. “I really just want to get out of my comfort zone and try something new,” she said. “Like, for example, I really want to try shrooms.”

Ku has been toying with the idea for a few weeks, she explained, ever since she watched Midsommar. “I really think Ari Aster was really onto something,” she said. “Did you see the way the trees were, like, breathing? I really want that to happen to me, too. The scenery was just so pretty.”

Ku assured this reporter that she understands the risks of psychedelic drugs, but that she already has some experience with out-of-body experiences, so she feels prepared. She has extraordinary dreams that affect her outlook on an almost nightly basis.

“Sometimes I have dreams that my professor doesn’t come to class, and no one knows what to do. And then I go to class that day, and my professor is there. It honestly gives me chills how weird that is. I think about it a lot.” Ku held up her arm to show that she indeed had goosebumps just talking about it.

Ku doesn’t think she could have a bad trip because she doesn’t think she’s likely to get paranoid or anxious. “As long as I’m in complete control of the situation, I’m an extremely chill person. Getting into the world of drugs has me pretty jazzed. I’m pretty badass.”
