With A Little Yelp From Our Friends: Cheap Drinks Edition

(04/05/11 6:40pm)

Because booze is always news here at UTB, we are happy to share this week's drinkable delight: it's Cocktails Week! The friendly people at Yelp Philadelphia have partnered with the 21 bars and restaurants they are most excited about to feature major drink specials through Sunday, April 10.  Each place will highlight one of their drinks for 50% off; all you have to do is ask for the Yelp Cocktail Week price.

F Stands For FASHION

(03/30/11 4:28pm)

Elegance! Sophistication! Leggings! PFW has talked the talk, and now it looks like they are walking the Walk, too. Today, matching models are bringing fashion to the people in this guerrilla runway show down Locust Walk. You should probably stay out of their way, though, because those sunglasses look like they mean business.

The Muppets Are Back!

(03/19/11 10:16pm)

And this time they brought friends! According to our sources, Cookie Monster was joined by such animated stars as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, all of whom were shaking their groove things to the musical stylings of Bubba Sparx. How else would they promote Cream & Sugar? Because yes, that is what they were doing. More photos after the jump.

Intern-national Superstars

(03/15/11 8:11pm)

Don't have a summer internship yet? You might feel less bad if you went to another school. The DP reported today that Penn is #1 on US News and World Report's list of 10 Universities Producing the Most Interns, with 90 percent of students graduating with at least one internship under their belt. Neat! Now all we have to do is figure out a way to use these stats to land ourselves a real job.

It's Pizza Or The Penn Fund

(02/21/11 5:07pm)

Regardless of whether you have donated, intend to donate, are on the fence or just don't give a flying Franklin about Seniors for the Penn Fund, this video is actually pretty funny. It involves pizza, awkward facial expressions and surprise Quaker violence set to Buddy Holly music, which are pretty much the basic ingredients for any good comedy. Check out the gems that inspired this video after the jump.

C'mere For Beer!

(02/17/11 7:50pm)

Considering how often we post about beer, we practically predicted the fact that Esquire would list Philly as one of the seven Best Beer Cities in America for 2011. Sometimes referred to as "Drunkadelphia" (oh wait, that was us too), Philly has been known to put back a few in celebration, anticipation, or at brunch, but now we've also proven our chops in the classier side of boozing.

UTB Love Week: True Life Conversation Hearts

(02/13/11 7:26pm)

Love Week continues with more tales from the heartland as we talk to real, honest-to-goodness college couples who will help you remember just how single you are! Up next are Seniors Kim E. and Gareth G., who give us the real nitty-gritty on relationships, hairstyles and their deep appreciation for schnitzel. This is what love is all about, folks.
