So you know how every time something's in the news, comedians try to poke fun at it? Sometimes they're successful, and sometimes this happens: @billmaher: I used to confuse U Penn and #PennState, now I have it: U Penn is private, PennState is where u can anally rape ten year old boys But Donald Trump Jr., reppin' Penn, replied to Maher and said what most were thinking: @DonaldJTrumpJr: Yea I used to think our "Not Penn State" t-shirts were obnoxious... Penn's Getting Hands(y)

Penn Medicine held a press conference yesterday to announce details of the its first double-hand transplant.  According to the Richmond-Times Dispatch, Lindsay Ess is only the third patient in the nation to have the procedure performed successfully.  This badass procedure was such a big deal that it took 30 doctors and nurses to pull it off!  After a donor was identified and an anonymous benefactor provided a private jet to get Ess to Philadelphia in time for the surgery, the team from HUP spent 11.5 hours to attach every bone, muscle, artery and nerve.

Huntsman Hunt: Colbert Edition — That's right!  Set your TiVos or tune in to Comedy Central tonight at 11:30 p.m. for The Colbert Report.  Huntsman is set to be a featured guest this evening, according to the Huntsman daughters' Twitter.



It's Biden Time

In case you missed it, Joe Biden made a stop on campus today as part of the Presidential three-day tour of the country, to speak out about the Jobs bill.  As a result, he spent most of the time discussing how the passing of the Jobs bill would help increase Philadelphia's police force and lower the crime rate.  In addition to Biden, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter was on hand, as well as various city and law enforcement officials.

Wharton Grads Buy The Sixers — As we reported back in June, the NBA finalized a deal this week that sold the Philadelphia 76ers to a couple Penn alums.  Sixers games won't start for at least a month though, due to the NBA lockout.
