March came like a lion and left like a lion, but it's finally spring! The cherry blossoms are blooming, the lunch dates are al fresco, and the Solo cups are littering Locust Walk. Filtered or not, send us your best campus pictures by Friday (tips@underthebutton.com) and we'll post the best ones for all to see. While you're at it, consider submitting your tasteful Penn porns to USA Today's College Guide contest. The winners of that contest actually get money!

As first reported by the DP, Penn is suing a dubious “consulting firm” called the Wharton Business Foundation for trademark infringement. The trustees are suing the company, and its janky-looking website, for using Wharton in its name, website and phone number, and for using the registered trademark symbol.

For seniors counting down their last days as undergrads and other students alike, Sidetour might be your new best friend. It’s a new community marketplace aimed at offering unique experiences in cities and Penn grads just brought the site to Philly. From tequila tastings to a guided tour from a descendant of Philadelphia’s charter-writer, all the offerings on the site sound like preceptorials you would want to take. This might just be the perfect opportunity to finally put that thesis to rest and reacquaint yourself with the outside world.

It’s the best week of the year for former student council presidents and historians alike: UA election week! Whether the UA and/or Class Board actually accomplishes anything is suspect, but we at least know they and those vying for their spots are crafty with their scissors, glitter, and iMovies. We interrupt our normal programming for our semi-annual look at the best of the worst campaign efforts, with one glaring absence: Anthony Janocko, where you at??!

We get that it's basically Monday night and What's HaPENNing is basically 1/7 irrelevant now, but did you complete all your post-spring break homework on time? We didn't think so. Did you even get out of bed today? We didn't think so. To the events!

In the latest job application to make us feel worthless, Penn senior Ankit Shah pulled an “Alice Lee” and made an awesome-looking website to attract the attention of his dream employer, Rap Genius. The start-up, which received a cool $15 million in funding last October, became popular by decoding those tricky rap lyrics you can’t even pretend to understand. Now, their aim is to move into deciphering other texts too, like political speeches and Bible verses.

In the wake of the saga that was Café Clave, we thought there would be nothing to fill the 4305 Locust-sized hole in our hearts. Enter Café Renata. Spanish for "reborn" (sOoOoo symbolic), the new outpost will have a soft opening next week with the official opening scheduled for next Friday. The new owners plan to move away from the Cuban theme and instead feature Mediterranean, South American, and American food options. They also hope to have a brunch menu soon, and there are no plans for criminal charges or weapons as of yet!

For what he’s calling an “artistic project,” Penn junior Dane Maniella recorded every desire he had on December 1, 2012. And we mean every desire. Let’s just say hour 0:00 is probably NSFVP (Not Safe For Van Pelt). If nothing else, this project shows us just how many desires we experience over the course of a day. In order to stave off our latest desire, not wanting to study for finals, we’ve decided to help Dane out and resolve some of his desires:

Consider this your formal and hand-delivered invitation to Amy Gutmann's annual holiday study break this Monday. Dress in nines (or your library chicest) and stop by dear old Amy's house for what she deems "a well-deserved" break. She obviously doesn't know we've spent Reading Days so far reading this and trying to beat this.

[Disclaimer: This post was part of our Joke Day series. Didn't the font tip you off?] The Panhellenic Council, which oversees the action of all sororities on campus, in a meeting last night, unanimously voted to ban any affiliated sorority girl from carrying Longchamp bags anywhere on campus. Panhel cites the company’s cruel ways in which they procure the leather for their bags as the primary reason for their decision. We’re guessing secondary reasons include repeated Longchamp-bag mix-ups at chapter meetings and the stifled individuality that comes free with every Longchamp purchase.

Over the weekend, we were alerted to yet another sighting of the storied Locust Hawk. Spotted slightly off Locust this time, yet no less vicious, Countess ripped apart another victim in the form of a helpless squirrel right in front of this adoring spectator. Happy Monday, y'all.

...one of these people?! This picture surfaced yesterday, so it's official: the Spring Fling performers could be on this Huntsman chalkboard! Kendrick Lamar is circled, Robyn is boxed, and even Mozart is on the list. What does it all mean? Zoom endlessly on the pictures and let the speculations continue. Only 144 days to go until we can be sure!

According to this picture from The DP, Sandy has cast its first sacrifice: the tree in front of Amy G’s house on 38th and Walnut. It’s clear Sandy has no qualms when it comes to her path of destruction. Stay safe and continue praying to the gods.

Warby Parker, that trendy online eyeglasses company founded by four Wharton grads, has taken their company to the streets and University City is the next stop on the tour. Their magic school bus will be parked on Walnut between 36th and 37th and then later between 39th and 40th.

There's nothing that makes us want to escape the Penn bubble more than midterms, so this week’s rife with motivations for escape. The only thing more crowded than the VP basement this week will be the sold out Beach House concert (who's got an extra ticket for this editor??), but we've lassoed up all the Philly finds with plenty of open spots. Stop wasting your time searching for an empty carrel, make like Petula Clark, and take a trip downtown this week.
