The Line Is Coming

IMG_0120

For those of you who aren't in the know, The Line is an all night event held in the Palestra and it's the only way to become a season ticket holder for men's basketball. The famous Line kicks off (bounces off? shoots off?) on October 22nd at 9pm in the Palestra and it's your only chance to get season tickets. More info after the jump.

According to an email we received from UA Prez Matt Amalfitano there will be introductions to both the men's and women's teams, activities like a shoot-out and Quizzo, and spending an entire night sitting on a hardwood floor in the name of school tradition. All you have to do is register for season tickets here.

What's different about this year's Line is that there won't be the usual surprise announcement. In the past, The Line was spontaneously announced, forcing students to drop everything and run to the Palestra. Back in the day a line actually existed, with the people in the front getting the best seats. But this year there is no line, just a mob (we think). Therefore, the order of the line doesn't matter because there isn't one. Get it?

Also, according to The DP we're bringing back the streamer tradition. Apparently attendees will throw massive amounts of blue and red streamers onto the court after every Quaker win. We assume this is to bring students' interest away from academic pursuits and back into rooting for the team, since our boys struggled all of last year. Let's just hope the Quakers get at least one win at home so we can actually try out this whole streamer thing, because who doesn't like making a huge mess in an historic building?
