One of these things is not like the other. Can you guess which one it is? Here it goes. A. Amy Gutmann B. Catherine Drew Gilpin Faust C. You

If you answered A, then *ding ding ding* you are correct! So what do you and the president of Harvard University have in common that Amy does not? Well, despite that Amy probably knows the words to The Red and the Blue better than either of you, you both went to Penn!

In a post brought to you by useless facts to throw at your parents when you finally tell them that after all those legal studies courses, you want to be a professor, here's a short list of current college presidents who went to Penn.

Catherine Drew Gilpin Faust: This lovely lady is actually the first lovely lady to ever be president of Harvard. She is also the first president since the 1600's to have absolutely no degree from Harvard at all. Which we respect.

Jared Cohon: This dude started off as a Pennginerd and then bounced around the academic circles for a while until he finally settled down in Pittsburgh as Carnegie Mellon's eighth president, a position he's held for almost 15 years. (Don't jinx it!)

Patrick T. Harker: After his stint as the dean of Wharton, this gentleman must have been sick of all the aggressive New Yorkers flocking to his neck of the woods. In an effort to surround himself with all his chill Main Line bros, he migrated a little south and is now the big kahuna at the University of Delaware.

Raynard S. Kington: Remember when you took the PSATs and suddenly you actually started getting tangible mail? Like, snail mail? With stamps and envelopes and everything? Remember when they were all from Pepperdine University or Grinnell College? Well this guy's president of the latter. But he went to Penn.

L. Timothy Ryan: Along with being ambiguous about his first name, L.'s definitely also the kind of guy who never shares his chicken recipe. Which is very sad, because this Penn grad is a Certified Master Chef and the current president of The Culinary Institute of America.

Morton Owen Schapiro: This econ grad and prominent author is not your average, run-of-the-mill economist. This man was not only a former president of Williams College, but he's also the current president of Northwestern University. Double whammy!

Mark G. Yudof: Not only is this man the current president of the University of California System, the former chancellor of the University of Texas System, and former president of the University of Minnesota System, but we're also excited to have you know that this fella was named one of the "10 Best College Presidents" by Time magazine in 2009.

And that's enough for you!
