What's HapPENNing?

For better or for worse, this semester is starting to wind down. With one week until Fling and three weeks until the end of classes, it's time to start checking items off of your Spring 2012 bucket list. (Especially you, seniors) So, what's hapPENNing this week?

Green Week 2012 Who: Student Sustainability Association at Penn When and where: Today-Thursday; check link for details Why: From Quizzo to volunteering opportunities to lectures, SSAP is haulin' backside to teach the Penn community about environmental sustainability. Schweet. Even cooler? All the free food and goodies you can snag. Check out the full event list in the above link.

Take Back The Night Who: Take Back The Night When and where: Wednesday, 6:30-10 p.m.; College Green Why: Take Back The Night aims to raise awareness of and combat sexual and relationship violence. This year, the event will feature author and Penn alum Leslie Morgan Steiner as well as poets Ms. Wise of Pussies, Pens and Politics (?!)  and Denice Froehman. Check it out and support a great cause!

WQHS Presents: Spring Picnic Who: WQHS When and where: Friday, 1-4 p.m.; 40th Street Field (40th and Locust Walk) Why: The event flyer promises SUNSHINE! LIVE MUSIC! and LEMONADE!, so we're in. With five performers, including the Glee Club Band and Jon Iwry (among others) and three pairs of Fling floor passes to give away (!), the Spring Picnic is shaping up to be über chic.

Philadelphia Premiere Of Reminiscencias Who: International House When and where: Friday, 7 p.m.; Ibrahim Theater (IHouse) Why: Reminiscencias is a 2010 experimental film by Peruvian director Juan Daniel Molero that deals with memory and identity. This Friday, the film will receive its first Philly screening, and for low, low price of $7, you can be part of this ~historic~ event!

Color Wars                    Who: Chi Omega When and where: Saturday, 2 p.m.; 40th Street Field Why: Chi O's newest philanthropy (RIP Fling dunk tank) brings us back to our summer camp days with a full lineup of kiddie games and competitions.  Form a team and check out the banging video here.  Plus more floor passes!
