We Have To Go Back! (To The Palestra To Watch Basketball)

Sure, we're all worried that tonight's basketball game against Princeton (7 p.m. at the Palestra) won't end in time for Lost (9 p.m. on our couches and beds). But oddly enough, the Quakers themselves are worried most about winning because this is a big game. See, they won Friday against Cornell, who was ranked in the top 25. To put that in context, last year's national champions, the UNC Tar Heels, were not ranked at all. Crazy!

But then they lost to Columbia. This disappointment was comparable to when Jack found out he was going to leave the island only to have Locke blow up the submarine (Sorry, we are really excited for Lost!). If they lose again tonight, they're in real bad shape.

Quaker point guard Zack Rosen knows this, too, so he took to the DP to rally the troops. He wants us all to be there, cheering and waving our personal Penn pennants. He says, "Let's deal the Tigers a full house." Luckily, this is basketball, where we want our opponents to go up against a full house instead of poker, where dealing them a full house would almost certainly lead to our downfall!

If that isn't motivation enough to attend, the DP also gave Daily Princetonian Sports Editor and obviously-fake-name-haver Zach Kwartler a chance to make fun of our basketball program. He calls out the Palestra for being rickety and Mr. Rosen for being red-headed. Get this world class trash talker on TV already, right? But until he hits it big and has the opportunity sling similarly witty put-downs with other great insult comics, he will have to remain Daily Princetonian Sports Editor, and he will have to watch the game tonight, and if we all show up and everything goes well, he will have to watch a Quaker victory.
