Amazon recently announced the 20 cities remaining in the battle for HQ2, the tech company’s second headquarters in North America.

Lily Watson (C ’21), a psychology major who declared after finding PSYC 001 pretty easy, chose to take a similar approach as the online retailer to determine a second major.

“I contacted all of the departments within the College to let them know that while I'm based in psychology, I am ready to expand into another field," Watson explained. "But they need to show me what they can offer—I’m not just going to choose any regular M2. They’ll have to FIGHT for this GPA."

“I have a few criteria my M2 must meet," Watson continued. "Things like, average classroom proximity to Houston Hall, opportunities for extreme wealth during my eventual career, and attractiveness of my fellow classmates."

"Oh, and the likelihood of receiving mostly A’s,” she added.

Watson listed her 20 potential candidates for M2. The list includes Communications, Political Science, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, History, English, Fine Arts, and Cinema Studies, among some others.

"Now, they must continue to dazzle me while I shorten the list,” finished Watson.

Contacts in some of the departments listed were reportedly unaware of the intense tournament in which they had been entered, but commented that Watson was free to apply like everyone else.
