Women Are Repulsed By Me: Here Are the Best Lunch Spots in West Philly

West Philadelphia has a thriving food scene. Restaurants with a cozy, neighborhood atmosphere and diverse flavors characterize the culinary experience of the area. As someone who hasn’t had a girlfriend in 19 years, these are some of my favorites.
Abbysinia
Served on a platter of spongy injera, Ethiopian food is meant to be shared— something I will never experience. I recommend the yebeg qey wot, a flavorful lamb stew perfect to mop up with the tangy injera bread. You could also try one of the combination platters to get a taste of some Ethiopian classics.
Manakeesh
People have said that they can’t imagine me in a sexual context. I like to go to Manakeesh for the meza, which includes Lebanese classics like baba ghanouj, falafel and hummus. It’s a delicious and refreshing lunch for a sunny afternoon. I ate here alone and masturbated afterwards.
You may already know about this classic west Philly café, popular among college students with their romantic partners. I will always feel like an outsider as I sip my chai latte and enjoy a breakfast burrito, or my personal favorite, the caprese sandwich. Each day it feels less likely that I’ll ever find love.
