Some People Speak About The People Speak

It's about time Lupe Fiasco and historian Howard Zinn joined forces. Lupe and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels are going to be reading speeches featured in the new History Channel documentary, The People Speak, tonight at Irvine. You will probably want to be there.

The film is inspired by Howard Zinn's books, A People’s History of the United States and Voices of a People’s History and features celebrities as awesome as Don Cheadle and as Danish-American as Viggo Mortensen reading the words of people who fought for change. We were hoping Zinn was going to get a guest spot on The Cool, but that never happened, so this is a nice consolation prize. After the readings, there's going to be a panel discussion and Q&A session. Questions for McDaniels about Run's House will be frowned upon by everyone but us, so take that into consideration when you step up to the mic.

It all goes down at 7 p.m. Tickets are free but you only have 2 hours to reserve a spot! Jump on that here.
