A League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (And Women)

Faber-Sandra

So it's safe to say we're not too thrilled about Mr. Jon Huntsman Jr. being the 2010 Commencement speaker. But, what about all those other people up on stage at Franklin Field (besides A-Gut and her entourage of old folks wearing droopy hats)?

The recipients of the 2010 Honorary Doctorates were announced yesterday. While most of us probably don't care too much who is up there, the Honorary Doctorates are actually pretty legit. Last year, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus was in the house. And in the past decade some other notables include Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and novelist-extraordinaire Philip Roth.

This year's list includes Abdullah Ibrahim, a South African jazz pianist, and an ex-hostage of the Taliban, Greg Mortensen. Throw in the namesake of Riepe College House, and we've got a party on our hands.
