Cyber Monday? Nah, Cider Monday!

Who needs the Internet, endless deals on products that soften the blow of your emotional instability and another excuse to abuse your parents’ credit card, when you can continue your binge eating/drinking streak from this weekend?
Penn Book Center (at 34th and Sansom, in case you never made the trek for your “required” reading), seeks to singlehandedly take down Cyber Monday with Cider Monday today. Stop by from 12-6 pm for hot cider, “holiday treats”, and some kind of underwhelming deal on books. Stay to pretend you have enough free time to comfortably read for fun! Maybe you can ponder the very shitty ways you do spend your free time and then consider actually buying a book in hopes of lessening your addiction to crime dramas. Or pick up a copy of The Old Man and the Sea to consider the intersection of geriatrics and oceanography, or The Great Gatsby so you can pick up a few talking points for the inevitable next Gatsby-themed event.
