One Student's Trash Is Another One's Treasure

You know how it goes: it's May, your flight home is leaving in an hour, and you just barely finished packing a year's worth of essentials. You don't have time to sell back your books, store your futon, or really do anything other than frantically hail a cab and hope the plane doesn't leave without you.

Have you ever wondered what happens to all that stuff you left behind in the Quad/Hill/insert-freshman-dorm-here? Enter: PennMOVES. Now in its second year, PennMOVES is putting on a sale at the Class of 1923 Ice Rink (3130 Walnut) this weekend in which your leftover crap will be sold at obscenely low prices. All proceeds go to the United Way, which we definitely back. 

According to UA Chair Alec Webley, there are "lots of really nice things, including microwaves, DVD players, printers, TVs, futons, comfy chairs, kitchenware, and textbooks (yes, cheap engineering textbooks in LARGE QUANTITIES)...plus adorable stuffed animals and ten sets of Twister." Intriguing.

The sale is going down from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, but you can get first dibs on the goods by paying $5 for admission to Saturday's pre-sale that starts at 8 a.m.
