Stephanie loves using Twitter. She loves it so much, in fact, that she can immediately tell whether or not a person is on Twitter when she first meets them.

She’ll say things like, “I literally can’t stand people who aren’t on Twitter. What am I supposed to talk to them about?”

Stephanie has also started adopting much of the language she sees on Twitter. Perhaps the most prominent example of this adoption is her constant use of the term ‘Periodt!’ over text.  She even uses the phrase when texting with her parents and grandparents, never explaining what it means and using it incorrectly almost every time.

For example, when her mom’s father passed away, Stephanie texted, “Omg sis :( his soul will go to heaven <3 periodt!”

She also uses the term when emailing with professors and prospective employers. In an interview with UTB, she said, “I literally can’t stop using it. I’d like to stop, but I have been saying it so much that I no longer have any control over the word. Also, in a much larger sense, I am starting to lose control over everything.”

Stephanie loves lying to people, and recently this deception has taken the form of tokenizing vernaculars that she finds funny. She is excited to see where this exciting new linguistic adventure leads her.
