Rosewood, PA — Last weekend marked the 16th anniversary of the disappearance of Alison DiLaurentis. A local sweetheart from close-knit Rosewood on the Main Line, DiLaurentis’ disappearance was met with an unprecedented months-long search and rescue effort that left the small town’s residents with more questions than answers. Her disappearance also brought the town an onslaught of national news coverage surrounding the mysterious circumstances surrounding DiLaurentis’ disappearance and family.
The Rosewood Police Department declared DiLaurentis’ case cold one year after the young teen’s body was discovered near the backyard of her childhood home. Since the discovery, Alison DiLaurentis has stayed in the hearts of many in the Rosewood and broader Philadelphia communities.
Friends of the DiLaurentis family, along with students and faculty at Hollis College, organized a vigil commemorating the 16th anniversary of the weekend Alison disappeared. The vigil included a re-dedication of a memorial to Alison, designed by her 4 closest friends in Rosewood Park.
For Rosewood, Labor Day Weekend means hanging up your white clothes and dawning a black garb in memoriam. As the organizers of DiLaurentis’ vigil remind us, 16 years later “she’s gone but she’s everywhere.”
