One weird freshman had a refreshing spring break and wants everyone to know about it.

Jesse Chapman thought the two-day break was everything he needed halfway through the semester. “Wednesday. Thursday. Two full days off— just amazing really,” Chapman said. This eager beaver says he’s now all set to finish off freshman year strong. “What more could I need, a whole week off? Let’s rise and grind.”

Penn’s “Spring Stay” events helped Chapman enjoy a guilt-free break with no assignments due the next day. A visit to the Eastern State Penitentiary helped free his mind from any impending worries. “I caught up on some lectures but mostly prioritized sleeping and taking advantage of the weather to meet all my friends,” the freakishly well-adjusted Chapman said. He appeared perfectly content with how he spent his time without even traveling to New York or Puerto Rico.

But now play-time is over and Chapman is ready to hit the books. “Yeah I had a great break. Memories to last a lifetime but that’s all in the past now,” he said soon after his 9am Friday recitation. Two midterms next week and a paper assigned just before spring break mean Chapman has a lot on his plate but he remains undaunted. “Luxurious breaks are nice but they serve a purpose: to prepare us for more work.”
