Chez Yasmine: Take a Free Napkin, Apple, Water, and Cigarette

One of the best, and weirdly sceniest, food trucks on campus, Chez Yasmine offers Penn students a healthier alternative to typical food truck grub. Always friendly, owner Jihed Chehimi chats students up (often in French) while cooking them up his famous Wistar sandwich or his delicious lamb couscous.

For students that don't know the drill, Chehimi will direct them over to the napkins — complimentary with every meal — and then to his selection of fruits. He reminds them to take a water bottle before handing them a cigarette in typical European fashion.

"Before I discovered Chez Yasmine, I was appalled by Penn's lack of SABSing locations," shared Pinar Aslan (Turkey, N '22). "Now all of my friends can socially smoke right by the truck and banter with Jihed and Karim."

While many sororities and fraternities bring trucks such as Schmear It to cater their outdoor events, the Birds Society frequently employs Chez Yasmine to add a little Tunisian flair to any occasion, because "there is nothing like finishing a meal with a Marlboro Gold," according to one Birds member.

We highly suggest stopping by and trying out a Wistar with chicken, but please, for the love of God, make it spicy.
